Richmond, VA math rock band Night Idea were recently featured on an AudioTree session, showcasing their unique drum patterns and riffs. They recently opened for Mothers and are currently working on a full length album.
Green Dreams are a punk band from Rochester, NY. They released a new album in August, which was recorded at Stephen Roessner’s Calibrated Studios in Geneseo. Thusly mixed by Shaun Sutkus of Perfect Pussy and then mastered by Ben Morey, a respected freelance engineer in Rochester. To top it all off, the magical Meredith Graves from Perfect Pussy produced it all. This record is a gem.
PLUSH is a San Francisco band consisting of members of The She’s. The band emits luscious surf and shoegaze rock for a lovely daytime beach feel. Their album is out on Father/Daughter Records and is worth a listen when walking down a busy street corner or whatnot.

Fish God is a project ofArjun Baxter, Andrew Links, Billy Petito, and Gordon Engelgau, all students of Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. This project pays homage to Phish and other rolling rock bands. Check them out, they are quite humorous.
Philadelphia native Jamie Glisson formed a band named Cape Wrath, after her father. She enlisted the help of Joseph Getz, a drum professor, John Lattanzio, and Will Stichter, formerly of Saxon Shore. Glisson blends religious topics with indie chill music to create what is known as post-rock, and it’s brilliant.
Five-piece rock band Joy Wants Eternity makes soothing and atmospheric post-rock. This track came out in 2007, but post-rock has become more popular in 2016 and lots of college stations have been playing Joy Wants Eternity tracks lately. From Embrace to Embrace is a classic.
I’m shocked hardly anybody I talked to over Fall Break even knew who Perfect Pussy is. Loud, unafraid and crazy is Meredith Graves, lead singer, and she wants to be heard whether or not you like it. This song and album was released in 2014, but the punk scene is still going strong and what a better way to pay homage to the queen of loud punk.
